Many business owners know grants exist. The challenge is knowing which funding opportunities are suitable, whether the business is eligible, how to structure a strong application, what supporting documents are required, how to maximise the chances of approval, and what happens after approval. Rather than navigating the process alone, work with a team that understands both business growth and grant strategy.
Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) Grant
If you're planning to expand your brand into a new overseas market — such as China or Malaysia — the MRA grant is one of the most relevant schemes available today, offsetting a significant share of your overseas expansion costs.
per company, per new market — covering up to 70% of eligible costs for local SMEs (from 1 April 2026).
How Businesses Leverage MRA to Reduce Overseas Expansion Costs
Instead of absorbing the full cost of testing a new market, MRA lets eligible SMEs offset a large portion of overseas market promotion, business development, and market set-up expenses — meaning you can trial a market like China or Malaysia with significantly less capital at risk, and reinvest the savings into scaling what works.
The S$100,000 Cap Is Split Across 3 Activity Pillars
Overseas Market Promotion
Marketing campaigns, trade shows, pop-up stores, and social media presence development in your target market — exactly where Pandai Media's Xiaohongshu, KOL and digital marketing services plug in directly.
Overseas Business Development
Identifying potential partners, licensees, and distributors, and deploying staff for in-market business development activities.
Overseas Market Set-Up
Legal, advisory, and documentation expenses for intellectual property, incorporation, and licensing in the new market.
Note: each application is limited to one activity pillar in a single target market, with projects capped at 12 months.
Who's Eligible?
Singapore-registered businesses with at least 30% local equity ownership, group turnover under S$100 million (or fewer than 200 employees), and annual sales in the target market that have not exceeded S$100,000 in any of the preceding three years.
The EDGE Grant: One Application, Three Schemes Combined
Enterprise Singapore is consolidating three existing grants — the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) — into a single new scheme called EDGE, expected to launch in the second half of 2026.
- ✓ Up to S$100,000 in support per year, per company
- ✓ Open to all Singapore-registered businesses, including non-SMEs — broader than the current SME-only limits
- ✓ One streamlined application based on your business activity (digitalisation, productivity, or overseas expansion) instead of choosing between separate grant structures
- ✓ EDG, MRA and PSG remain fully active via the Business Grants Portal until EDGE officially launches
Grant names, caps, and launch timelines are set by Enterprise Singapore and may change ahead of the official EDGE launch. We track these updates closely and will always advise based on the latest published guidelines at the time of your application.

Grant Funding FAQ
Generally, Singapore-registered businesses with at least 30% local equity, group turnover under S$100 million (or under 200 employees), and annual sales in the target market not exceeding S$100,000 in the past three years. We'll confirm your exact eligibility during a free consultation.
Yes — the S$100,000 cap applies per company, per new market, so businesses expanding into multiple markets (for example China and Malaysia) may be able to apply for separate support in each, subject to eligibility and Enterprise Singapore's approval.
Not necessarily. EDG, MRA and PSG remain fully active via the Business Grants Portal until EDGE officially launches in H2 2026. We'll advise whether applying now or waiting for EDGE makes more sense for your specific project timeline.
